Well, Bryan did a good job covering this story.

But it continues with images of lightning and visions of Raiden in the background. Also, one big image of a grizzled, older Big Boss shows up on the page as well.

Brad’s Take: OK, so MSG5 is pretty much confirmed now. But, could this be a Lost-like Flashback/Flash Forward thing going on with Big Boss and Raiden?

Honestly, I’m not going to speculate too much, but it sounds like a big announcement is going to be at E3

The countdown ended today on Kojima’s ‘Next’ page but only changed the old flash webpage a little bit and added more time to the clock. As I am writing this, the clock is at 102 hours, 52 minutes and 15 seconds. In eight more hours, it will be four more days until the site changes, again.

The other notable change to the site is the clouds and thunderstorms in the scene. The dark skys changes the feel of the rural area around it which makes me wonder if this is like an evil pressence coming to this earth. The scene and new look of this place gives much detail to which game it could be about.

The only other difference I saw on this new page was the numbers/letters that flashed behind the time every so often. This time around, I notice more then just a ‘5′ symbol flashing in front of me. I kept seeing a ‘3′ or E’ or ‘e’. These symbols still don’t mean a 360 version of Metal Gear Solid 4 but makes me question my own idea of a MGS5. Zone of the Enders 3 was the idea I had when I first heard about this website.

I wrote down a string of these symbols on a note pade for a few minutes and came up with this:

I searched around the web and found that the Unofficial Website of Zone of the Enders is keeping an eye on Kojima’s ‘Next’ project page but so does the Unofficial Metal Gear Solid Site as well. Both sites hoping that their game is picked for Kojima’s project.

Who would have thought that naming Kojima’s next project would be this frustrating since he only has 4 game series (MGS, ZotE, Lunar Knights, Boktai). One thing is for certain though, E3 2009 will be the time to see what Kojima has in store for gamers in the near future.

The page now loads up flash which then turns to stormy clouds, an open field setting with a forest to the left and farm land to the right.In the very center of this storm is a clock, counting down and the time I see at this moment is 53 hours, 5 minutes and 20 seconds.

The page does nothing more but show this count down. You will notice however the number ‘5′ or ‘S’ flash in front of your screen when you hear some thunder. Also, the bottom right corner of that website, you will notice a logo and if you click on it, the link takes you to the kojima website managed by Konami. This group has brought you such games as Zone the Enders, Lunar Knights and of course, Metal Gear Solid Series.

As much as the site isn’t really informational, this will keep those who are interested in the Konami to see what their new project may be.  I highly doubt this site has anything to do with Metal Gear Solid 4 for the 360 so we need to stop dreaming about that happening.

In a report made by Asahi, Konami has decided that it will not publish Six Days in Fallujah. This comes after making a big press conference and announcing the game that was in production to be released in 2010. The game was said to depict a realistic interpretation of what happened in the Iraqi War in Fallujah during those six days.

Upon the announcement, veterans from the Iraqi war and family members of disabled and deceased veterans decried that the game was morally ambigious and offensive by taking such a serious subject lightly.

Brad’s Take: My first immediate opinion was that this was a damned tragedy. Here’s a company making a brave risk that could, artistically, give them tons of credibility with hardcore gamers if it would have been done right.

Now, here’s why this was probably a good idea that Konami did this: Money. Plain and simple, the game was going to cost money…and possibly more than it was worth. It seemed like for this game alone, you needed a PR team working round the clock to spin this game as something positive.

And there was the fact that even core gamers, who applauded Konami for this announcement, took a step back and said, “Wait…how could this be fun?” A message game that depicts realistic happenings in the war? This game needed to be A) Hyper realistic and B) Not very fun in order to go through.

Again, I really hope this game does see the light of day, but the outlook is pretty bleak for Fallujah
