Rumor: Sony to Add Motion Sensing Tech to PS3…aside from Sixaxis
Sourcelink: The Cut Scene
The Cut Scene reports that a new motion sensing technology will be unveiled at E3. The tech is very similar to a rumored patent from January 2007, in which the controller uses LED’s and a motion sensing camera. This camera will be able to detect different types of colored lights, which will help it detect more in velocity and tracking precise movements on a Z-axis (forward and back).
Brad’s Take: This is somewhat similar then what Microsoft was trying to do with the 360 and NXE. If The Cut Scene is true on this rumor, then it looks like E3 is going to be a huge year for Sony this year…if the rumor of a new PSP is also true.
But something tells me that this rumor may be the one that is blown out of proportions or is not as big as the rumor mill will make it. I just can’t see Sony announcing two different products in this kind of scope for E3.
It’s a possibility, but either it’s not true or it may be in a smaller scope.
