Because You Can’t Get Enough: More New PSP Hardware Rumors
Sourcelink: 1UP
Every week, there is a new PSP rumor or story. This one comes from 1UP, which points out a few things from their sources:
1) The new PSP will not be a PSP-4000 or PSP2, it will be called the PSP Go!/Slide/Flip
2) The system will forego its UMD Drive
3) The system will have internal memory: Either 8GB or 16GB
4) The system is set for release in the Summer in Japan and in the fall for the US. It will be the crowning jewel of the E3 stage for Sony.
The strong possibility of this being true stems from other rumors, such as over 100 PS1 and PSP games being available for download in the near future. Also, it’s believed that Gran Turismo Mobile will bundle with this system.
Brad’s Take: If this is to be true….then I totally called it!
However, something doesn’t seem completely right. First off, Gran Turismo Mobile out this year? I don’t think so. LittleBigPlanet I will buy.
Other than that, I have to say that this may be a strong possibility, since the DSi is cleaning house of the PSP. A sleeker, more compact PSP would do wonders for the system, so would the lack of UMD. Then again, what are PSP owners going to do with all of them UMD’s?
To me, it’s a strong rumor that may very well be true…just not totally.
Bryan’s Take: You might have called it but I’m still going to take this as a rumor and nothing more.
It’s getting to a point where I should just write about the magical powers that will be included with this new PSP coming out and how it will cure the world from disease. The only thing I see coming from this are more people talking about a product that doesn’t look like it’s coming out any time soon (or at all). I wipe my hands clean of this rumor *wipe, wipe*.
