On the Hard Drive: Our May Games to be played

The month of May might not be a “big month” for games, but it’s going to be an interesting one. Let’s see what’s coming out, who will be playing and what me and Bryan think of them:

Velvet AssassinBrad: Technically, this comes at the end of April, but we won’t be able to play it until May. Bryan will be the one playing this game, but we both have been skeptical since we haven’t heard much about this game, aside from a Game Informer article a couple of years ago. (Won’t get)

Virtual On: Orotario TangramBrad: As a recent Dreamcast lover, I’m excited to find that these classic games I’ve begun to love or haven’t been able to play are becoming more available. In support of this development, I may just outright buy Virtual On in hopes other Dreamcast games will come to the service. Suggestions? How about Jet Set Radio or Chu Chu Rocket?

Banjo-Tooie - Brad: Yep, I’m a closet N64 lover. And my love of Nuts and Bolts will likely bring me to purchase this relic, despite its flaws. The question for many will be…will it be 1200pts?

KlonoaBrad: One of my favorite platformers of all time is coming to the Wii. My only problem is that it’s a $50 remake of a nearly 10 year old game. This game seemed more suitable for Wiiware. It’s still Klonoa however, so let’s hope it’s a quality title I’ve come to expect. (More than likely will get)

Battlestations PacificBrad: I was lukewarm to Midway when it came out two years ago and I haven’t heard much in lieu of improvements on this game. So I’m going to hold off on playing it until it’s one of those “Ehh, it’s there, I’ll rent it” moments. (May not get)

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel - Brad: It’s a dungeon hack in its purest. The PC version did okay on its native platform, but the last dungeon hack of note on the 360 was Too Human. Let’s hope this fares better…otherwise, it’s a crapshoot. (May not get)

Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs King AbaddonBrad: I guess this is a great time to welcome a new addition to my pile of RPG’s I have to play! Right now, I’m going through Yakuza after just going through Persona 4, so until then, I’m buying it, just not playing it. I know, doesn’t make much sense,  does it? (Will definitely get)

Punch-Out!!!Brad: Hearing mixed things about this game won’t make me not want to play it. I’ve loved Punch-Out! for a long time, so I’m eager to see what Nintendo does with this franchise. (Will definitely get)

UFC 2009 UndisputedBrad: Bryan and I have already agreed to get this game for the PS3, but with my time with the 360 demo, I can’t wait to see what depth and fighting mechanics this game shows. This may end up being a surprise smash this year. (Will definitely get)

Bionic CommandoBrad: Another mixed reaction game that I’m eager to try. Rearmed handed me my ass last summer, so I’m hoping to regroup and conquer this game with a fair challenge. (Likely get it)

Cross EdgeBrad: I honestly haven’t heard a single thing about this game. So, you’re guess is as good as mine. (Most likely won’t get)

Boom Blox Bash PartyBrad: The sequel to last year’s sleeper hit, this game adds more Booming and Bloxing. There better be a ton of change to warrant the $50 price tag, however. (May/May not)

inFamousBrad: Crackdown is turning out to be my favorite game of this generation thus far…inFamous may be able to surpass it. I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on this game, and I know Bryan feels the same way. (Will definitely get)

All of this and some possible quality download titles makes this a busy month for me and Bryan. Come back to check everything out.
