On the Hard Drive: Our Coverage of Downloadable Games
Hey everyone, Brad Wiswall again:
When we created this podcast, me and Bryan wanted to not only get an outsider’s point of view on the inner workings of the gaming industry, but to show an educated opinion on games that we feel should be played and noticed. It’s no secret that these websites (1up, Gamespot, etc.) seem to look at games much differently than that of most gamers, which is why we cover and play the games the way we do.
What me and Bryan did notice is the lack of coverage and reviews on downloadable and independent games. These websites love to tout that these games are inevitably the future of this business, yet they do not cover the games or review them on a constant basis. This is something me and Bryan will love to correct.
Starting next week, me and Bryan are committing ourselves to downloading and reviewing these types of games (Bryan will cover the XBLA and XNA releases, while I will cover XNA, WiiWare and PSN). At the end of each show, we have our “On the Hard Drive” section, where we will download and play a downloadable game. That’s right, no matter how obscure it may be, we will tell you about our experience with that game on the site or on the show.
So be sure to tune in or check out anything labeled “On the Hard Drive”
